Аннотация
Plasma-arc (PA) sputtering method was applied for synthesis of Pt/CeO2 and Pd/CeO2 nanoparticles. PA represents a joint sputtering of a graphite electrode with various metals (Ce with Pt or Pd). This novel approach allows obtaining highly dispersed metals and ceria on the first stage of synthesis. The thermal treatment of an initial composite in air at 600°C-1000°C results in the burnt of a carbon shell and formation of CeO2 with a fluorite-type structure. XPS and TEM analysis showed that Pd and Pt species are stabilized in the ionic form due to strong interaction with ceria. Obtained nanoparticles have a high potential of application as catalysts for efficient low temperature CO oxidation.
