The article presents the results of the study that examined the normative beliefs of Russian psychologists about psychological science in the context of post-nonclassical scientific rationality. In total, the study involved 404 psychologists from all federal districts of Russia. They responded to a questionnaire consisted of 20 items, where it was necessary to indicate their agreement / disagreement on a 7-point Likert scale. Results were considered in relation to the age, gender and academic degree of the respondents, as well as psychological paradigms and types of rationality to which they relate themselves.
Based on the obtained data, a formative model of normative beliefs about psychology was built. Its second-order construct is "normative post-nonclassicality" that positively associated with epistemic relativism, and negatively with epistemic realism. Also, it turned out that normative post-nonclassicality is positively related to moral relativism.
The results do not allow to state that in the Russian academic psychological community psychology is considered as a science that should be a post-nonclassical discipline. There are two normative beliefs that characterized most of the respondents. Firstly, psychology should develop multiparadigmatic approaches and, secondly, it should strive for strictness of terms. It was found that men have slightly lower level of normative post-nonclassicality than women. Respondents who consider themselves to have classical scientific rationality tend to agree more than others that psychology should be oriented toward natural sciences. Respondents who consider themselves to have post-nonclassical scientific rationality agree more than others that psychology should develop multiparadigmatic approaches and methodological tolerance. It is determined that normative beliefs about psychology are related to the age and academic degree of the respondent. Particularly, the older the psychologist is, the lesser will be his agreement with statements that psychology should develop ideas about construction of reality or guided by natural sciences. Finally, it was found that the level of normative post-nonclassicality is also associated with psychological paradigms to which the respondents relate themselves. The highest level of this indicator is characteristic of representatives of psychoanalysis.
