Аннотация
The article is devoted to the manuscript tradition of the treatise De predicatione crucis written by Humbert of Romans, Master General of the Dominican Order between 1266 and 1268, and intended for use as a manual by preachers of the crusade. The article advances the hypothesis that the treatise may have been used in holy wars of the 15thcentury. On the one hand, almost all the manuscripts date from the 15thcentury and are currently preserved in German-speaking countries. Moreover, several documents concerning wars against the Ottoman Turks and the Hussites are associated with the treatise in a certain number of codices. Furthermore, the 1799 Melk codex was found to contain an anti-Ottoman war propaganda document several passages of which reutilize one or the other chapters of our treatise.
