Аннотация

In the modern literature there are several approaches to the study of the cognitive processing of verbal visual stimuli. According to one of them, the recognition of a verbal visual stimulus is carried out in stages over time, consisting of separate modules and involving processing on the principle of “from simple to complex”. According to another model, interactive one, recognition of a verbal stimulus is carried out by a system in which higher-level linguistic information modulates early perceptual spelling processing. In order to draw conclusions about the two presented theories, we obtained EEG data from 20 healthy subjects who took part in an experiment with the presentation of adjectives with different frequency of occurrence in the language and different emotional coloring. According to our assumption, differences between different groups of adjectives will be observed already at the early stages of cognitive processing. The absence of differences will support the modular theory of cognitive processing. EEG analysis using methods of localization of sources of bioelectric activity will allow us not only to get an answer to the question about the time dynamics of verbal stimulus processing, but also to determine the localization of functional activity.
