Multi-component seismic acquisition is used in many applications. Reliability of multi-component acquisition is crucial for borehole studies, where the price of operations is quite high. In this paper I want to consider advantage, which provide four-component data, namely data redundancy. It allows to calculate amplitude correction factors accounting for the variations of geophone sensitivities, errors in channel gain settings or different coupling. This processing technique helps to improve quality of data before processing. For example, it is beneficial for better realization of polarization analysis: we can get more accurate polar angle and polar azimuth. This advantage is really valuable in such seismic areas as vertical seismic profiling or hydrofracture microseismic monitoring, where data acqisition quality control is very important, due to changing coupling conditions of tools.
