The evaluation of the propagation of vertical gaseous emissions

Abstract

The physical model of the propagation of harmful gaseous impurities emitted from vertical heat sources in the surface atmospheric air layer has been developed. The major characteristics of an emission jet in the cross flow of wind have been obtained. It is demonstrated that dynamic forces exert primary influence on the rise of the jet above the mouth of a source. An empirical formula has been derived that enables one to evaluate concentrations of gaseous impurities at different distances from low and medium-height emission sources.
