Peculiarities of kinetics and dynamics of laser cooling of atoms in quantum regimes

Abstract

The work is devoted to the study of the features of momentum distributions of two-level atoms in the field of a one-dimensional standing light wave with full account of the effects of recoil and spatial localization. The cooling of strontium, calcium, and magnesium atoms on a narrow optical transition 1S03P1 was studied. Equivalence of momentum distributions and dynamic cooling characteristics for different atoms was found.
