Abstract
Abstract: A crystallographic analysis of SrAl12O19 (isostructural to BaFe12O19) and BaFe18O27 showed that the structures of both polytypes contain almost identical cationic and anionic (with participation of a large cation) sublattices, whose geometry is consistent with the high symmetry P63/mmc of these compounds. The presence of unified “skeletal” sublattices is considered to be the main condition for the formation of polytype structures.
