Mixed Amidohalotantalates [Ta(NMe2)3X3] (X = F, Cl)

Abstract

The anionic tantalum complex (ItBuH)[Ta(NMe2)3Cl3] (I) is synthesized by the reaction of [Ta(NMe2)3Cl2]2 with N-heterocyclic carbene ItBu and is isolated as two crystalline modifications (Ia and Ib). Its fluoride analogue (ItBuH)[Ta(NMe2)3F3] (II) is synthesized by the reaction of Ta(NMe2)5 with (ItBuH)BF4. The structures of the complexes are determined by X-ray diffraction analysis (CIF files CCDC nos. 1977540 (Ia), 1977541 (Ib), and 1977542 (II)).
