Abstract

Abstract: Tuning the wavelength of the radiation on a free-electron laser (FEL) changes the strength of its undulators focusing. Two approaches to compensating for this effect are considered: conserving the transport matrix and matching the Twiss parameters. Both approaches are validated at the Novosibirsk FEL. As a result, beam propagation is maintained when retuning the wavelength of FEL radiation in the range of 120–130 μm.
