Abstract
Amorphous pentasulfides MoS5 and WS5 were studied in a series of chemical reactions for the first time. Interaction of MoS5 and WS5 with melt of tetramethylthiuramdisulfide resulted in two new molecular complexes, [{Mo3S7}(dtc)3](S3H) and [{W3S4}(dtc)4(Me2NCHS)]. Halogenation of MoS5 and WS5 resulted in cluster coordination polymers M3S7Hal4 (M = Mo, W; Hal = Cl, Br).
