Abstract

The paper presents results on the influence of weak magnetic fields at the formation of polymer-dispersed nematic liquid crystals doped with nitrogen-containing carbon nanotubes. The effect of the concentration of nitrogen-containing nanotubes and the magnetic field strength on electro-optical characteristics of films is described. It is shown that the presence of iron impurities (up to 4 wt. %) in nitrogen-containing carbon nanotubes during film formation in a weak magnetic field (up to 0.13 T) increases light transmission of film by 2 times (till 77 %), while the optical response time decreases also by 2 times (till 5,1 ms).
