Abstract
The article reveals the situation in the Islamic countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan in the middle of the 18th century and deals with the problem of the so-called “Islamic anti-Qing coalition under the leadership of the Durrani empire”. The situation in Afghanistan and adjacent regions of India was very important to the existence of the Durrani empire. So, basing upon the data from Moslem and Qing sources, the article traces the changes in the foreign policy of Ahmad Shah Durrani and shows that the hypothetical anti-Qing coalition under the leadership of Afghan state was not possible under the contemporary circumstances. The thorough study of Qing sources in respect of Badakhshan-Qing relations and comparison of them to the Moslem source “Tarikh-I Badakhshan” shows that the Afghan invasion to the Badakhshan in 1765 was not the evidence of the existence of the aforementioned coalition and meant just the next of the numerous Afghan expeditions to the adjacent regions.
